  • Description
Chaco is a Grand-Tactical game/simulation of the military events of the Chaco War, fought between Bolivia and Paraguay from July,1932 to July, 1935. The basic game is a regimental simulation of the conduct of the war, using primarily infantry forces in historical dispositions. The alternate game, Gran Chaco, covers specific military innovations and strategic considerations individually, allowing players insights onto the variable effects these innovations can have on military operations. This game includes a map representing the Chaco Desert. Each hexagon represents ten miles or 16 kilometers of actual terrain. Two sets of die-cut counters: Grey for Bolivian, Green for Paraguayan. One fourteen page rule booklet and three charts: Paraguayan Brigade/Division/Corps Composition Chart, Bolivian Division/Corps/Composition Chart, Optional Unit Appearance Chart/ Combat Results Table. The game was published by Game Designers's Workshop in 1973. - BoardGameGeek
